Coast of Gozo (Malta)
Description
Gozo is the greener, quieter sister island of Malta. The name "Gozo" is believed to translate to "joy," while the island's name in Maltese (Għawdex) relates to legends of giants who built its massive stone structures. It is widely considered to be the mystical Ogygia from Homer’s Odyssey, where the sea nymph Calypso kept Odysseus trapped for seven years.
